World's best steak again from Atria – Win the World Steak Challenge competition

Atria has once again achieved international success with Finnish beef, winning the prestigious World’s Best Grass-Fed Fillet series in the World Steak Challenge 2025 competition. This year again, Atria's Danish partner JN Meat International participated in the competition with Atria's products.

The World Steak Challenge competition has been held since 2015, and Atria has been at the gold level almost every year. The success shows that Atria's responsibly grass-fed Finnish beef is the best meat in the world.

The competition assessed in particular the taste, tenderness and responsibility of the origin of the steaks. The grass-fed fillet series emphasises an organic and sustainable production method that supports the circular economy and promotes biodiversity.

– In the opinion of the jury, Atria's grass-fed beef stood out with its specialness and received recognition for the persistence of the taste and the pleasantly fresh taste of the steak, says Markku Hirvijärvi, Atria Finland’s Vice President, Meat Business and Exports.

Cooperation behind the success

Atria delivers high-quality Finnish beef to its partner JN Meat International in Denmark, from which JN Meat selects the best pieces for the competition. The victory is the result of joint work – thanks go to Atria's family farms and JN Meat International.

– We would like to thank all family farms and our partners for enabling international recognition. The victory is once again a testament to the strong professionalism of Atria's farmers and our joint investment in our responsible and unique food chain, starting from our own feed factory, says Markku Hirvijärvi.

Atria wants to highlight the origin of beef with Nurminauta®

This autumn, Atria has introduced the Nurminauta® indication of the origin of meat in beef products. The Nurminauta® marking on the product means that the beef has been fed with Finnish grass and grain and has not been fed with soy.

Grass-feeding cattle is a sustainable way to produce protein in northern conditions and an important part of the circular economy. As grassland is the natural food of cattle, it is also important from the point of view of animal welfare. The raw material chosen for the World Steak Challenge competition has always come from cattle fed on grass.
